IIJA (BIL)

Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), also referred to as the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), replaces and expands upon the FAST Act.

Signed into Law - November 15, 2021
• $567.1 Billion for infrastructure over the 5 year life of the Bill
• Invest $350 Billion in highway programs

Creates Over a Dozen New Highway Programs
• New Carbon reduction Program

Provides More Opportunities for Local Governments
• Safe Streets and Roads for All Grant
• Incorporates "Complete Streets" standards
• Includes housing considerations in the metropolitan transportation planning process
• Development of surface transportation systems that will better connect housing and employment
